On March 25, 2019 Gary Stanley Waskiewic lost his battle with lung cancer-just 2 short months from diagnosis. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughter by his side.
Gary spent his life loving the outdoors, all animals and his family.
Gary was born in Englewood, Colorado. He attended St Louis Catholic School from K-8 and went on to Englewood High. After graduating, he and a friend drove to Alaska on an epic adventure along the Alaskan highway before it was paved. This was always Gary’s most memorable trip.
Gary married Audrey Oman on January 27, 1973 and enjoyed 46 years of marriage. He and Audrey had a daughter, Holly, in May 1985. Gary worked in construction sales until 1995 when he injured his back in a horse-riding accident. From then on, he took on the role as a stay at home dad, which he adored.
Gary leaves behind his wife, Audrey Waskiewic, his daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Josh Wimmer, granddaughter, Evelyn Wimmer, mother, Betty Adams, brother, Daryl Waskiewic, sister, Claudine Arnold, and nephew, Chris Arnold.
Services will be held Thursday April 4 at 10:30am at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (6673 W Chatfield Ave Littleton, CO 80128). Reception will follow at the church and beers to follow at dad's favorite restaurant, The South (3535 S Huron St Englewood, CO 80110).
